Sixth Sense Media provides nationwide taxi advertising services with a comprehensive, fast process along with attractive pricing and high preferential discounts. We are an advertising company with more than 15 years of experience, having implemented many taxi advertising projects for both domestic and international brands on all scales.
1. What is taxi advertising?
Understanding taxi advertising simply means deploying advertisements by sticking advertising decals, placing advertising items on taxis to reach pedestrians or passengers in the car. Taxi advertising is similar to bus advertising solutions which are pasted on both sides of the car but with a smaller area. Due to the development of this type of advertising, the current forms of advertising are quite diverse.
Currently, we can divide into 2 main groups of advertising: exterior taxi advertising and interior taxi advertising.
1.1. Exterior taxi advertising
Exterior taxi advertising is using printed advertising images on decals (gloss-laminated or matte-laminated decals) stuck on both sides of the taxi. Currently, there are 4 popular forms of taxi advertising: sticking on the 2 rear doors, sticking on the 2 doors and the rear trunk (full rear), sticking on 4 doors, and sticking on taxi windows. Taxi advertising has 2 main types of vehicles: 4-seater taxis and 7-seater taxis.
1.1.1. Advertising on 2 rear doors of the car
This form of advertising is using advertising images stuck on the 2 rear doors of the taxi. In 2015 this was a very popular form of advertising in Vietnam because of its novelty and beauty, high efficiency. The area of this type of advertisement is 1000mm x 800mm for 4-seater cars and 1100mm x 850mm for 7-seater cars.

1.1.2. Advertising on 2 rear doors and the rear trunk of the taxi (full rear)
This form of advertising has a larger advertising area compared to the 2 rear doors, ranging from 1800mm x 900mm for 4-seater cars and 2000mm x 950mm for 7-seater cars. With a larger advertising area, of course, it has a better impression.

1.1.3. Advertising on 4 doors of the taxi
Previously, advertising on 4 doors of the taxi was not approved by taxi companies because the front 2 doors display the company’s brand logo. But due to customer demand and the explosion of taxi advertising, companies have accepted to allow this form of advertising. Currently, only Vinasun taxi, Mai Linh taxi, Open99 taxi, and Vinataxi implement this form of advertising.
The outstanding advantage of this form of advertising is that it is wide, eye-catching, and makes an impression on viewers.

1.2. Interior taxi advertising
Advertising behind taxi seats: Using posters and leaflets placed behind the front seat, people traveling by taxi will easily access the image right in front of them. Currently, Sixth Sense only applies this form on Group taxis.
Advertising on LCD screens behind seats: This form has now been exploited by Vinasun Taxi and Mai Linh Taxi but has not been properly appreciated.
1.2.1. Advertising behind taxi seats
As mentioned above, currently Sixth Sense only provides seat-back advertising solutions on Group taxis. Although this form of advertising does not have as large an area as the previous forms, it has the advantage of easily reaching customers traveling by taxi.

1.2.2. Advertising on LCD screens behind the front seat
This is quite a new form of advertising in taxis that has been exploited by two taxi companies, Vinasun and Mai Linh, in the past 1–2 years, but it has not really received much attention from advertising units and businesses. The advantage of this form of advertising is that the image has sound and motion with short TVCs lasting 30–45 seconds. If you have a brand or service promotion campaign that affects the customer’s vision and hearing, this is the most suitable advertising channel.

2. Advantages of taxi advertising
Taxi advertising is increasingly popular and has now become one of the most common forms of outdoor advertising. Stepping out into the street, it is not difficult to see taxis wearing impressive and eye-catching advertising “clothes.” Of course, there are reasons for that. Taxi advertising has truly conquered many investors because of the following outstanding advantages:
-
The high operating frequency of taxis increases opportunities to reach and attract customers’ attention.
-
The average travel distance of a taxi per day is 200–240 km, making the advertisement appear in many places, increasing brand recognition.
-
Taxis are a common means of transportation with high advertising exposure, capable of generating thousands of impressions every day.
-
Taxi advertising costs are much cheaper than other forms of advertising such as billboards, buses, outdoor LED screens.
-
Wide advertising coverage, as taxis weave through every road, reaching mass customers in unlimited numbers.
3. Taxi advertising regulations
Taxi advertising regulations are clearly stated in the Advertising Law in the section on advertising on means of transport, Article 32 of the Advertising Law 16/2-12/QH13 effective from November 2013 until now.
Content of Article 32 of the Advertising Law:
“1 – Advertising on means of transport must comply with the provisions of this Law and traffic laws.
2 – Advertising products are not allowed to be shown on the front, back, and roof of the vehicle. The advertising product must not exceed 50% of the area of each permitted side of the means of transport. The display of logos, emblems, symbols of the vehicle owner or the transport company on the vehicle must comply with the provisions of traffic laws.”
In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also issued Official Dispatch No. 2310/BVHTTDL-VHCS with the following content:
b) From January 01, 2013, the issuance of permits to advertise on billboards, signs, banners, screens placed in public places, luminous objects, aerial objects, underwater objects, means of transport, and other mobile objects is abolished, replaced by the procedure for receiving advertising content notifications on billboards and banners. Therefore, according to the provisions of the Advertising Law, no fee is collected for the procedure of receiving advertising content notifications on billboards and banners.”
Thus, for taxi advertising in particular and transportation advertising in general, it is currently not necessary to apply for a permit to advertise, but it is still necessary to have an “advertising product notification dossier” submitted to the Department of Culture in the locality to deploy advertising.
4. Some notes to effectively implement taxi advertising
For businesses intending to deploy taxi advertising, note the following important points:
-
Choose the right taxi company: In each province and city, there will be different taxi companies operating. Investors should pay attention to choosing large companies that operate continuously in the target communication area to increase visibility and reach customers. Along with large taxi companies, you can also combine advertising on local companies to create diversity and save deployment costs.
-
Number of vehicles and advertising time: Taxi advertising should be implemented in the long term from 3 months with 100 vehicles or more. This is the number and time studied by SSM from campaigns implemented in practice to ensure advertising can be displayed and reach as many people as possible.
-
Advertising design: Taxi advertising is a mobile form of advertising, with exposure time only about 5–7 seconds for exterior advertising forms. Therefore, the advertising design should be concise, creatively expressed, outstanding, and make viewers pay attention and remember immediately.
-
Project supervision: During the advertising process, management and supervision are required to ensure that the advertisement is pasted aesthetically, with sufficient vehicles and deployment time as planned.
-
Choosing an advertising company: Look for a reputable advertising company that implements projects directly without intermediaries to ensure quality, progress, and warranty for the advertisement.
5. Why choose a reputable taxi advertising company?
Choosing a reputable taxi advertising unit is not easy when there are many units providing taxi advertising services in the market. We offer some criteria to help customers choose the right advertising unit:
-
The unit has experience: Based on previous advertising campaigns implemented by customers to evaluate the unit’s experience.
-
The unit is reputable: Find out information about the advertising unit to know whether they have any bad issues with customers or partners.
-
What is the warranty policy?
-
Are there preferential quotes and discount levels?
And Sixth Sense Media is confident to be the unit that meets all the requirements that investors need for an effective and quality taxi advertising campaign.
